Bracken Tor: The Time of Tooth and Claw

Peter

SOMETHING IS STALKING THE PEOPLE OF THE MOOR.
The Bloodmoon has risen. Something is stirring, something feral, ancient and terrible. It began many years ago, with the discovery of the livestock, ripped to shreds, torn apart and devoured. The beast now has a taste for blood...our blood...there has been a murder - a vicious, brutal killing - out there on the mist shrouded moorland. A lone hiker, exploring our ancient land, has been discovered... mutilated and bloody. The beast struck at some point just after dusk, ripping out the throat. Our land was once the hunting ground for many vicious carnivores, but they have long since disappeared, hunted into extinction. Could those beasts have returned, to seek their revenge? Where or when have these monstrous creatures come from?

SOLVE THE MYSTERY OF THE MOORLAND BEASTS.
Spend a night on the mysterious moor, with only the canvas of your tent as protection. Listen out for the sounds, look out for the tell tale signs, or flee in fear when the pack closes in. You are a bold journalist, always looking for the next 'big story'. How far would you go to grab the front page? Would you risk your life, for a news story? If so, the ancient rock formation known as Bracken Tor awaits your arrival. The stony outcrop dominates the moor, and boasts several unnerving stories; from unexplainable glowing lights, to this latest horrifying incident. Are some places cursed? Or, are they haunted by those who went before?

THE PAST HOLDS THE KEY.
Thrown into the ancient past of the Bronze Age people, you will find the true origins of the nightmare. Those primitive people lived in fear of the mighty beasts, making sacrifices to protect themselves from the packs, which hide in the thick pine forests and wind swept tundra. They practised long forgotten ceremonies, and studied the natural world, in an attempt to understand and conquer their foe. For it is only through understanding the 'old ways' that you will survive the night. You will have to decide what is worse...the beasts that lurk in the darkness, or the terrifying acts performed by our ancient ancestors.

•Explore the desolate moorland, searching for evidence.
•Travel back in time, to The Bronze Age, to learn its secrets.
•A complete interactive world; brought to life on your PC.
•Environmental sounds and weather to heighten the experience.
•An unnerving and eerie soundtrack to chill the blood.
•Experience virtual archaeology, and uncover the past.
•Survive beast attacks using items close at hand. Defend yourself!
•A complex and unusual story to piece together.
•Glean clues from newspaper articles and local radio broadcasts.

The City of Metronome

Peter

Venture into the city of Metronome, a sprawling mass of haphazardly built houses and huge steam engines where the outlandish inhabitants are carrying out their chores day and night.
A city where the life of every citizen is dictated by the Corporation, a single bureaucratic entity that owns all the land, the entire infrastructure and all the industries.

Explore winding alleys, skewed rooftops and crowded apartment buildings as you search for proof of the Corporations secret agenda, all while listening for sounds to record.
Sounds that can be used for a variety of tasks: fight enemies with loud and destructive sounds, solve problems and confuse citizens by clever usage of the right sound at the right moment, use seductive and melodious sounds to change the mood and behaviour of listeners.

Can't find the specific sound you need? Create it yourself!

Prominence

Peter

You awaken...

A glow too dim to be anything but emergency lighting illuminates the room. Computer screens and electronic equipment here remain dark, unpowered and unresponsive. A gurney, some sort of sophisticated surgical device, an overturned medicine cart, a bioscanner...nothing looks familiar. Or does it?

What is this place? How did you get here? What has happened?

GAME FEATURES
Prominence is being developed by a small, independent team, but we’re working hard to deliver a thought-provoking story wrapped in a powerful and highly-immersive game experience. A partial list of scheduled features includes:
Pre-rendered 3D environments with animated effects
All of the environments in Prominence are built in 3D and pre-rendered for maximum visual impact and quality. Many of the in-game environments feature animated effects that enhance the realism and immersion.

Story-based inventory, environmental and graphical puzzles
The puzzles and challenges in Prominence are story-based. Just as in real life, some of them may have more than one solution. None of the puzzles require lightning-fast reflexes or platform-gaming skills.

Branching story with multiple endings
At a particular point, you'll be given an opportunity to choose between two different paths. Each path will lead not only to a different ending, but will have different obstacles to overcome and unique environments to explore.

Original soundtrack
Digital Media Workshop, Inc. has been producing music for over ten years, and we plan to capitalize on that experience to bring the world of Prominence to life through powerful environmental soundscapes and a cinematic score.

Professional voice-acting
Prominence will feature an ensemble of character voices supplied by professional actors.

First person viewpoint
To provide the most immersive experience, Prominence is presented in a first-person panoramic view.

Coven

Peter

Why Did Young Megan Jones Have To Hang?

Did she suffer the noose because she really was a witch, as they claimed? And why has the ghost of the black dog haunted the river bridge ever since? These are some of the questions you'll have to face in Arberth's next game.

‘Coven’ is a moving tragedy, unfolding through generations in Castle Avon, a small town steeped in Welsh history. The player arrives in the present day, ostensibly to mix corporate duties with the family business of claiming an inheritance, the legacy of an unknown Great Aunt. But your investigations enmesh you with an involved story going back to the frightening witch-hunts that coincided with the English Civil War, traversing the Rebecca Riots, the British Agricultural Revolution and World War II espionage, to the terrible threat that has come to grip the fate of the town following your Aunt's demise. You must discover and assume your Aunt's occult responsibilities - summon allies and new skills - and face the truth that has eluded Castle Avon for nearly four hundred years.

As with 'Rhiannon', we have dipped into Wales' past; however this time into history rather than legend. In the seventeenth century, while England and Scotland were hanging and burning hundreds accused of witchcraft, Wales exercised pragmatic tolerance; there are no records of witches being executed there. So what made Megan Jones special?

Alter Ego

Peter

South England, 1894
In the town of Plymouth the body of recently buried Sir William disappears under strange circumstances. This peculiar news would not stir such tremendous public interest if it was not Sir William himself. He was investigated several times during his life and although the police never managed to press charges against him, scary legends about his bloody crimes live on among the town people. There were only a few left who were willing to serve him and were brave enough to stand the look at his lifeless face. And most of them run away in horror after his death and series of murders that followed it. Police are helpless and not able to move forward with the case. The town is thrown into a state of panic and fear.
Young ordinary thief Timothy gets utterly unwittingly involved in these events. His arrival is characteristic enough already - he came as a black passenger on a ship and was brought into the town in handcuffs. But Timothy has completely different plans. He dreams of getting to America where he wants to start a new life. But the mysterious destiny will soon make him – and not only him - realize how winding its paths can be...
Playable Characters of the story:
Timothy Moor – Innocent with a soul of a thief who grew up on the street and never had an easy life. He lies and cheats - yet is he a faithful friend. His pleasant smile hides his dark side and he often abuses trust of the fair sex. He does not hesitate to rob a blind violinist but when the need may be he is able to risk his own life to save a friend or a stranger woman in distress.
He despises police and he always stays where the law cannot reach him. His overgrown self-confidence and a unfortunate concurrence of circumstances throw him in jail and his dreams about his journey to America are quickly turning into dust…
Detective Bristol – An English gentleman, the personification of law and hard-edged justice. Systematically rigorous, at first look calm and principled. He is investigating the circumstances under which Sir Williams’s body disappeared from the cemetery but refuses to believe in the existence of a monster. Yet the everyday news about increasingly brutal murders take the firm ground from under his feet away. Soon he faces big decision - how far is he able to go in abandoning his principles in order to solve the case…?

Miner Wars

Peter

Overview
Miner Wars is a 6DOF underground and space shooter played in a fully destructible environment and is a combination of single player story game and MMO.

As a player, you operate an advanced mining ship in an open world asteroid belt area. You dig kilometers of tunnels, harvest the ore, travel the solar system, fight your enemies and discover mysterious alien secrets.

Game play is led by an epic story and is a combination of a single/multi-player game, cooperative, or you against everyone.

The story will introduce you to many types of missions: rescue, exploration, revenge, base defense, theft, transportation, stealth, search and destroy, pure harvesting, racing or just flying around and destroying everything you see.

High quality rendering and special effects, realistic physics, unique 'destructible engine', and game area with no borders make this game a real life experience.

World premiere: Autumn 2009

Platform: Windows, Xbox 360 Live Arcade. Active internet connection needed!

Destructible Environment
Miner Wars is played in space filled with asteroids. Some of them are large--almost 10 kilometers. You can dig in any direction through any of these asteroids, and do so without any constraints.

Physical engine calculates all changes in real-time in regard to material resistance. Yes, some materials can be non-destructible by standard explosives.

Environment changes are persistent - you can blast a new tunnel, travel to a distant sector of the solar system and even come back after one month and your ‘work’ will be still there. Or maybe not, as other players might have 'finished' your tunnel.

There are places where no man has been. These virgin areas are ready to be explored and harvested. Of course there are also high demand areas where you have to fight for every piece of ore.

Story
It is the year 2061. Earth resources are scarce. The actual world production requirements could suffice for a maximum of 10 years. On the contrary, resources located in the asteroid's belts could suffice for millions of years.

This is the reason why space mining became the ultimate opportunity for modern adventurers. Space miners get rich or die trying.

The game will lead us to brothers Marco Polo and Mario Polo. They too decided to try their luck in this harsh place. They focus on researching mysterious alien artifacts, instead of harvesting the ore, minerals, or gems. During one of their research missions they are attacked by a squad of Space Peace activists. This is when your story begins. You play as Marco Polo, the older brother.

Alien artifacts - Their purpose is still unknown but they are certainly not made by humans or by nature. They are found randomly, no actual radar can detect them. Some are found in alien tunnels, some only after digging into the asteroids.

Space Peace Activists - A self-made group of young people who advocate 'man have no right to plunder space'. They patrol the area and attack everyone. No one likes them!

Game Play
The aim of the game is to harvest as much as possible while trying not to die and to find the final answer to the mysterious alien artifacts.

The player can join any one of the existing factions (ENFOR - Earth Nations Peacekeeping Forces, Space Rescue, WASA - World Aeronautics and Space Administration or many other corporations and Black Market Dealers).

The player's story moves as he completes missions. Some are single player only, some are multi-player. The player decides if he wants to fight alone or in cooperation with his faction members.

Vehicles
The player controls a medium-size mining ship aimed for movement in narrow tunnels and open space. The mining ships differ in weight, loading capacity, engine power, armor power and equipment.

Game Area
Game is played in an open world area. The player can travel from one sector to another in just his mining ship or he can use one of the large cargo transporters. The mining ship can move in outer space and underground tunnels. The area has no borders.

Replayabillity
Thanks to a unique 'destructible environment', every time the player plays the game new situations arise.

Learning Curve
Operating the mining ship is very intuitive and the player can start instantly. The player's spatial orientation is supported by a real-time navigation system with integrated radar.

Richness of Possible Actions

•Rescue missions
•Exploration missions
•Defending the base

Nuclear Dawn

Peter

Nuclear Dawn is the first game to offer a full FPS and RTS experience without crippling or diluting either side of the game.

Play as a soldier in a war-torn post-apocalyptic landscape, modelled on modern cities, and take the fight to your enemies as armoured, assault or stealth infantry, using various weapons and loadouts to accomplish your objectives. The first person shooter action in Nuclear Dawn is hard, fast and unforgiving, with weapons that rely on skill and tactics more than on twitch reflexes and map memorization.

Learn your roles, the strengths and weaknesses of each class, and use them to their fullest to lay waste to your enemies, in specially designed environments that force you to exploit terrain and cover to stand a chance in tomorrow's war.

Then, take Nuclear Dawn above the action, and play as the commander. Organize your fellow players in squads, and assign them to tactical objectives. Plan the resource routes for your army, and production of your structures for forward deployment.

Exploit the terrain and resource point locations to block your enemies’ tactical advance, and crush their plans in an iron fist. Research and implement new technology to give your soldiers the edge on the battlefield, and set up forward bases to lead the assault on your enemies, with full defensive and offensive structures to choose from and upgrade to build your perfect fortress.

Colonization of the Remnant system was a breakthrough in humanity's outward expansion. The system was composed of seven planets, three of which were determined to be excellent candidates for population centers. As the sleeper ship arrived in the system three hundred and fifty years after it left the shipyards orbiting Jupiter, the colonists awoke to discover that the Remnant system was more than it had originally appeared.

Vast alien ruins tens of thousands of years old were discovered on the surfaces and in the orbits of the third, fourth and seventh planets, and the third planet was home to a staggering variety of alien flora and fauna. Research on the found ruins began immediately, and led to the discovery of the principles of instantaneous teleportation. A gateway portal was constructed linking directly to Earth. This greatly sped up human colonization of other systems. Just a few decades later, there was a vast network of teleporter gates. The humans' hopes for contact with another intelligent race, however, were not fulfilled. Each new world was as difficult and as barren of intelligent life as the next.

Then, one of the border colonies on the far edge of the human colonies winked out. Then another. And another. Advance scouts were sent ahead and returned hastily-taken images of an enormous fleet, horribly alien, destroying an entire colony world.

Earth panicked, and called back forces from every corner of the empire to prepare a counter force. As preparations were underway, more colonies disappeared, and information about the seemingly unstoppable invasion trickled in: fleeing was the only route to survival. Any colonial force that held its ground was out-thought on every level, and despite the seemingly unimpressive alien firepower, colonial armies were ground into dust underneath the perfectly timed enemy strikes that tore apart strategies which had barely been formed. As their last hope for survival, Earth deployed its fleet. However, despite all efforts to keep battle information flowing out of the Remnant system, the Remnant teleporter gate went dark five hours later.

Now, you are on the wrong side of the gate. As one of the survivors, you must piece together what happened and unravel the mysteries of the alien invasion and the Remnant system itself.

Mytheon

Peter

For as long as the world can remember, the gods have dominated the affairs of men. Zeus and his pantheon of Greek deities have ruled the Mediterranean, while Ra and his legion of Egyptian lords have held sway over the deserts of antiquity. Powerless, mankind has been at the mercy of their fickle ambitions since the dawn of history.

Yet even the gods answer to a higher authority -- the sisters of Fate. Silently watching the affairs of the cosmos with unknowable wisdom, these three Fates have intervened and declared an end to the reign of gods -- mortals must now be given a chance to prove themselves worthy of self-rule.

But such a reward will not come easy. The gods will not surrender their throne without a fight. By decree of the Fates, a tournament has now been set in motion between the divine pantheons and the champions of man. Open to mortals of every age, race, and religion; the tournament is a chance for mankind to prove its mettle in combat and triumph over the very gods who would shackle their dreams of freedom.

The destiny of all humanity lies in the balance. Will a hero rise to the challenge, mastering the trials and tribulation to free the world? Or will the gods repel the challengers and maintain their iron grip across Earth?

Only a champion brave enough to test their courage will find the answer.

Battleswarm: Field of Honor

Peter

This genre-busting new game pits players of First-Person Shooters against players of Real-Time Strategy in epic online battles waged between elite Human soldiers and massive swarms of alien Bugs. Each player on the Human side takes control of a single soldier in first-person mode, armed with an arsenal of high-tech weapons and armor. Players on the Bug side see combat like an RTS, building hives, breeding bug units, and sending them into battle. This unique contrast of genres provides revolutionary gameplay on both sides.

Enemies in First-Person Shooters used to come in only two types. If you wanted to fight large-scale armies, you had to play against AI. If you wanted to fight other players, you had to fight small squads of evenly matched soldiers. Now Battleswarm provides a new third option: the player-controlled monster horde. For the first time in an FPS, you fight an alien army that is controlled by real intelligence. No longer must you settle for rigid and unrealistic AI. You’ll need every weapon at your disposal to out-fight a Bug army that uses large-scale strategies to exploit your weaknesses and attack from where you least expect it.

As a player on the Bug side, you’ll enjoy a whole new dimension added to the standard RTS. Whereas most normal games feature strong “hero” units with special abilities, no hero in any RTS is as versatile as an FPS player with an arsenal of guns, grenades, and high explosives. But have no fear! You’ve got a wide variety of deadly Bug breeds at your disposal, plus the hives to create more. With an entire army at your disposal, it’s your job to outflank and overwhelm your heavily-armed Human enemies.

Better than two games in one, Battleswarm combines an FPS like no other with an RTS like no other to create a new game genre: the Combat Strategy. Whether you crave the nonstop action of the Human side or the cold and calculating strategy of the Bug side, you’re in for a gaming experience never seen before.

World in Flames

Peter

World in Flames is Matrix Games’ computer version of Australian Design Group’s classic board game. Covering both the European and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II, World in Flames is global in scope while simulating each branch of service in detail. Land units are corps and army level, supplemented with specialized divisions. Naval units include individual counters for every carrier, battleship, cruiser, and light cruiser in the war. Air units represent groups of 250 to 500 airplanes displayed on screen using 1000+ unique bitmapped images. With 6000+ unique units, 250+ countries, and a global map of 70,200 hexes, World in Flames is the premier World War II grand strategy game.

All 11 scenarios from World in Flames Final Edition are included and they range from the small 5 turn Barbarossa offensive in Russia and the 5 turn Guadalcanal battle in the Pacific, through to the 36 turn Global War campaign which spans all of Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the Atlantic, and the Pacific.

You can play either the Axis or the Allied side or take the role of one of the 8 major powers. Besides solitaire and head-to-head, you can play over the Internet or by email (PBEM). The last two modes of play permit team play with up to 6 players (3 per side).

In addition to the full set of rules from World in Flames, Final Edition, there are 80 optional rules. Under the optional rules section you can choose to include the World in Flames expansion modules: Ships in Flames, Planes in Flames, Carrier Planes in Flames, Cruisers in Flames, Convoys in Flames, and others.

This simulation models national production from conveying raw resources over rail and sea lines to factories for the manufacturing infantry, armor, naval, and air combat units. Because oil was so important during World War II, there are separate optional rules for synthetic oil plants and deployment of oil reserves to the front lines.

Game units are represented in both armies and corps, aircraft carriers, naval task forces, and the air groups that took part. Everything you need to re-fight the greatest conflict in history.

Two to six players make the strategic decisions that decide the fate of nations. What forces to produce, where to commit them, when and how? No two games of World in Flames play the same, no strategy is foolproof, any decision may have unforeseen, long-term consequences.

If you want to change the world then World in Flames is for you.

Battle for Atlantis

Peter

The last war on the planet erupted when people found the ancient civilization of Atlantis which has been concealed at the ocean bottom for ages. Humans have underestimated the power of Atlanteans and thus the war takes place in the middle of ultimate elemental disasters – hurricanes and floods. The infrastructure of human civilization is almost totally destroyed, cities lie in ruins and the global interconnection between detached countries is broken. New cataclysms caused by the magic of Atlantis happen all the time. Inhabitants are in panic, diseases are raging and the number of refugees exceed all possible limits. The remains of regular troops are trying to stand up against the army of Atlanteans; this army consists of giant dinosaur-reptiles that have been tamed and fully controlled by bionic mages of Atlantis.

We do not conduct a revolution in traditional RTS gameplay, but bring new colors and extend it. The player will not have to get used to new rules; he constructs the base, produces units and fights against the enemy with their help as before. However, we have invented a brand new game world and the classic gameplay looks unusually different within it. All aspects of the game world, like water, buildings, units, resources and landscape obey physical laws. Teramorphing. Battle actions shift from the seabed to the dry land. Ultimate elemental forces. All this changes the classic gameplay in such a way that the player receives a brand new game experience.

The game is based on the graphics engine of the game Sparta: Ancient Wars, but has a new and very powerful water technology. For the first time in the history of RTS, a full physical model of water space will be created. The water has stopped being a “dead area” – a non-interactive flat mirror good only ship sailing. Real waves and tsunamis, flood and destruction of the landscape by water, river flows and waterfalls, splendid underwater effects – all this gives an enormous scope of creation and makes the game world of Atlantis as real as never before.

Game Features
A unique concept of the double-level game world.
Teramorphing
A full interaction and a physical model of the environment, including resources.
Advanced water physics (including physical waves) and the physics of objects in water.
Global elemental forces that change the level appearance.
A nontrivial storyline.
Enormous monsters – atlantes pangolin riders that destroy human buildings.
High-quality graphics and special effects, especially water effects.

Strength and Honour 2

Peter

Strength and Honour 2
By 232BC, during the Hellenistic period, many great empires have risen to power on the world stage. In the West, the nations that once made up Alexander the Great's mighty empire are crumbling and conflicts and political differences are plaguing the region. Carthage and Rome are bitter rivals fighting to dominant and eliminate each other from the area surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. At the same time, the typically peaceful Egyptian Empire is at war with the Selecuid Empire as an act of revenge against a murder plot by the Selecuid king that secured his claim to the throne. In the Northeast, the Huns threaten the northern Chinese states as the Qin dynasty fights to unify China and in Southeast Asia, the death of the great ruler Ashoka has left the nation in a state of flux. The world is chaotic and full of heroes, dreamers and deceivers. What path will you choose to raise a mighty empire?

Game Strategy
Strength & Honour 2 is an empire building turn-based and real-time battle strategy war game that is set in the ancient world. The game allows the player to take the seat of an ancient ruler. They have eight civilizations to choose from with over 25 nations from Rome, Carthage, Egypt, Persia and the Gauls in the West to China, the Huns and Maurya in the East. Rather than kill monsters and find treasure, Strength & Honour 2 takes the player back in history to a time when empires were built not just through wars and a life of the sword, but the player must face the real obstacle of ruling a nation; maintaining peace and unity within the empire.

Building an empire is one thing, but sustaining one is a whole other matter. As the player builds up the empire’s foundation through sword and might and expands across the world, the internal problems of running an empire start surfacing and requires more attention from the player. Local governors may demand more of their fair share of the wealth and land in the empire, the expedition marshal may overshadow the ruler’s popularity and became more of a threat to the ruler than foreign enemies or generals may start to form political parties that begin to dictate the direction of the player's commands and so on.

Strength & Honour 2 shows the player the trials and tribulations on the road to creating a truly successful empire.

Battle Mode
Battle Mode allows the player to organize and control their army and engage an opposing army in battle. They can enter this mode when they engage with an enemy army or when the player attacks a city or an enemy army attacks one of the player's cities in World Mode. The player will be prompted to personally lead their troops into battle or allow the computer to decide a winner. If the player chooses to lead their army, then the will enter Battle Mode which gives the player the power to set attack formations and strategize an attack pattern that will allow the plater to beat their opponent even if the player's troops are outnumbered.

Using a 3-D terrain system the battles are in real-time and the cities and terrain in battle are both vivid and realistic with backgrounds from all over the known world. Weather patterns, the time of attack and the morale of troops all have an impact on the outcome of the battle and make for battles that are always interesting and surprising.

Facilities
In Strength & Honour 2, the facilities that a player can build in their cities a very important to maintaining a successful empire. Depending on the personalities and desires of the player's subjects, different types of buildings will need to be built to maintain a high level of happiness. If the player fails to satisfy the desires of their generals then a city may revolt and attempt to break away from the player's nation. Key facilities include: Farms, Courthouses, Schools, Barracks and Marketplaces.

With this online mode, EA SPORTSTM responds to requests that have been expressed by fans of the popular football management simulation for a long time.

In the traditional offline part of the game this year’s new features are based 100% on requests from the fan community. More than 400 improvements have been made across the board and of course you still have full control over the management of a football club. You are responsible for the line-up, the tactics and the training of your team – as well as for signing the right players, improving the club facilities and the stadium. Special highlights are the player manager mode, the national team manager mode, the Create-a-Club mode and the Match Prognosis Tool.
