There is a price that must be paid for living in a Utopian society. In the world of Nexagon, that price is boredom. However, there just might be a way to relieve that boredom ...
The enemy awaits across the narrow bridge, knowing an assault from the thralls is coming, knowing there is only one way to get to them, or go through them to their sanctum. Should they fall, they hope the traps in place will deter the force gather to oppose them.
But what you are seeing is not actually reality, it is a game show, pieced together and offering death of thralls for the entertainment of the public.
The concepts behind Nexagon: Deathmatch, a PC release from Strategy First, are nice, but really have little to do with the game outside of laying the background for the battles.
Nexagon is a futuristic television show that pits two sides against each other in a deadly capture-the-flag scenario. The ‘flag’ in this case happens to be a sanctum, which can be fortified with warriors and traps. Of course, you don’t just get to throw whatever devices you see fit in the midst of the mapboard. You have to buy your way to power, and that means success in the arena.
Bypass the hype, the announcers who only want to see action, and consider the moves ahead of you. That bridge is awfully narrow and killing your foes is not always the easiest path to that end. Sometimes you need to maneuver around them instead of plowing through them.
But let’s backtrack just a bit and break down the game.
It is the 44th Century and the population of the world has gotten lackadaisical. In order to generate new life into the society, stir in some excitement, the concept of Deathmatch was realized. Take two squads with diverse abilities, through them on a mapboard that allows only for victory or defeat and broadcast to the population.
You are in charge of one of the squads. You have a starting sum of money and must buy thralls (units) for the combat. Each has different skills and value to the cause. But you can’t just spend all your funds on the thralls. There is the sanctum to consider. You can make it a lovely place, full of trees and art objects (which do have some purpose) or you can bypass the pretty scenery and just go for the traps and obstacles to maneuver the enemy into the traps. Thralls can be healed, cremated or otherwise sacrificed for the good of the battle.
The object is really twofold. Capture the other team’s sanctum, but don’t let them end-run you and snag your’s first.
One of the biggest problems with Nexagon: Deathmatch is that it really does not feature an intuitive interface. It is hard to jump right into the game and play. Even the tutorial seemed a little sketchy on the details, but if you take the time to work your way through the game, you will see that this is game that requires thought in several different areas. You need to plan ahead in the pre-battle phase. During the actual combat, you will have to consider quickly everything you need to do. You snooze, you lose. If you manage to win, you will earn rewards which can translate into unit improvement.
There are four types of races available, each with species-specific skills. The fortresses (your sanctum) can be edited.
Graphically this game is well done. The environments are lush, and the animation is smooth. The sound tracks really do a nice job of supporting that television game show mentality and the announcers are sufficiently irritating.
But this is really a game that is about tactical combat in a confined area. There really is no place to run or hide. Each match is an all-or-nothing scenario. You must plan well and move quickly, and therein lies the charm of the game.
Nexagon: Deathmatch is a wild take on chess. You have to have the right pieces and play them well. The sanctum in the king, which cannot fall. This is a game that is conceptually sound, has solid graphics and sound and plays well. It will take time to get into and learn the intricacies of the game, but therein lies the fun and the challenge.

Driver: Parallel Lines is the fourth game in the Driver series, following the story of TK. In 1978, TK (who was then an 18-year-old driver-for-hire who had just graduated from high school) was sentenced to 28 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, and is released from prison in 2006. Now, with his driving skills, he seeks revenge against the police department for having to serve time for something someone else should've gone to prison for!
Unlike Driv3r, Driver: Parallel Lines mostly takes place behind the wheel, returning back to the formula that made the first game a classic. The game still has a GTA-style open-ended design, though, and you can still exit your vehicle for some on-foot action. However, there's no reason to exit your vehicle unless it's damaged and you can no longer drive it, as almost all of the game's missions involve cop car chases. If that's the case, then you can either go to the repair shop to repair your vehicle, or just steal someone else's vehicle! Until then, you can punch the cops with your fists and steal their weapons when they're dead, so that you can use them for future on-foot combat.
The game takes place in both 1978 (before TK went to prison) and in 2006. The 2006 setting has a much more modern soundtrack than the 1978 setting, which has a mostly disco soundtrack. Obviously, the 2006 setting has the architecture, technology, and cars of today.

In this game, you play the role of Beavis and Butthead in their quest for coolness. You start out in your typical Highland High science class looking out the window as the typical badass Todd is hanging out with his buddies. Beavis and Butthead, two clueless kids who aspire to be cool, decide to search for Todd and his gang.
Travel to the faraway city of Highland (which feels more like the outskirts of Dallas, though...) and join Beavis and Butthead as they fry countless innocent ants, work in a fast food restaurant to make their way to the top, steal a tank, break the law, recite poetry, try to loose their virginity, and even go to jail, in search of their own version of the Holy Grail.
You will see familiar faces like Mr. Anderson (their neighbor), Daria (School Genius), Principal McVicker, Bradley Buzzcut, David Van Driessen, Stewart Stevenson, and Killer (or 'KYLER' as Beavis and Butthead like to call them). This game is an awesome and hilarious experience; I remember the first time I played it I got in trouble because I couldn't stop laughing in the middle of the night. Be warned: this game contains a lot of profanity and lowbrow jokes, not for the weak hearted and much less religious folks who can't take a joke.
The game lasted for a good time and has great replay value, especially because of the mini games I dare you to get tired of frying ants. A big problem I had with this game is figuring out what to do next. I remember I got stuck for such a long time because I missed something. (Quick tip: do not miss the gum in the water fountain at school, it will torture you forever).
I love interactive games where you can click all over the place and there's a response for it, this game is that kind of game, whether an item is part of the quest or not, you can click on it and you'll have a response from the dynamic duo! Plus you can take your sweet time doing things because it's not the kind of game where you have to react quickly or anything like that.
Whether you've seen them on television or not, I guarantee you'll fall in love with their stupidity in no time! And one more thing!
"Diarrhea Chachacha, Diarrhea Chachacha!" talk to Daria at the beginning of the game and you'll know what I mean!

The user interface is separated into 3 categories (Single-player, Controls and Multiplayer). Shortcut keys are easily configurable according to your needs. If you encounter any problems, a ReadMe file is provided to help you with your trouble shooting problems.
The game is easy to install. Instructions are provided in a Readme file. As long as your computer has the minimum requirements, the installation will complete without a hitch. If your computer doesn't contain DirectX 8, the installer will install it for you.
People who have watched the movie and want to relive the joys of the movie will like the game. The game is mainly targeted at the male teenage population due to the amount of violence and blood.
